It’s already that time of year for the MSBA/Belcher scholarship. A $1000 annual scholarship is awarded to a student in each of MSBA´s 17 regions, and a statewide winner will receive an additional $1500. Students are selected based on their academic achievement and leadership abilities. This year’s theme is  “The COVID-19 pandemic closed school buildings in the Spring of 2020. Schools had to adapt rapidly to provide remote instruction. What did you, as a student, learn from this experience? What should school districts do to prepare if this were to happen again? Students must respond to this prompt in a 500-700 word essay in addition to completing an application.

Senior Kami Politte said, “I prepared for the essay by thinking about my personal experience with the COVID-19 closing of my school.”  She also said, “I think this topic is important and should be addressed.”

Seniors can pick up a paper application in the counselor’s office or they can find the application link on the seniors – Class 2021 Counseling Google Classroom and the Virtual Google Classroom. Applications Must be returned/submitted no later than November 11 to Mr Bouse.
