Simply Sadler

Although I am in high school and I’m almost a senior, I feel that  I still need to give credit to the teacher/s that have made me who I am today.  If I were to choose out of all the teachers I’ve had, I would have to say it would be Mrs. Sadler.  Mrs. Sadler has also been my volleyball coach for almost two years.  I’ve known coach Sadler for years and she has always been someone I looked up to.  Her presence has a huge impact on everyone that she’s around.  To add to that, she also will go out of her way to help anyone with anything whether it’s sports, math, or even science ( just not chemistry).  Just having her around really shows that she loves her job and she loves her students.  In volleyball, one thing he always says is, “ I can’t coach consistency.”  Although it’s meant for volleyball, it also has an overall effect on your life.  Life is going to bring ups and downs but, soon you’re going to overcome those and make mistakes until you learn to figure them out.

Out of all the 12 years in school, there never was someone who inspires me more.  When I grow up, I want to go into the medical field, and the lessons learned from Coach Sadler prepare me for what is going to happen in the real world when I’m an adult and doing my thing.  As a coach, she teaches us not only the rules of the game but the responsibilities of being a young woman in the real world. with her saying that it inspires me to be like her. One of the volleyball seniors, Chelbi Poucher, has looked up to Coach Sadler. Poucher has chosen to be a coach after high school and pursue a career similar to Coach Sadler’s.

“In the future, I want to be a coach that will be remembered by my athletes and move on in their life. Coach Sadler is so old school and I love that. I will use many of her methods to coach my teams in the future.” Poucher said.

At PHS, teachers, coaches, aides, and staff all impact the school in their ways. All of them have certainly helped me but, coach Sadler is someone I could never forget ever. She’s screamed, cried, laughed, and commented on any moment that someone has had. Coach Sadler has a good sense of humor when it comes to being around the team. The varsity team has a reputation for making Sadler express many different emotions.

Poucher said,” Yes, she may be harsh sometimes, but she is always respected. I will always remember coach Sadler.” this brings out the best of the coach but only at the right time.

All in all, Coach Sadler is not only a great coach and teacher but also a friend. When anyone is feeling down or upset, she is always there to help them boost their confidence and help them in any way. Sadler treats everyone as if they were her kids. She shows them what to do and how to do it to make sure they feel successful. At the PHS board meeting, she was at her interview for the volleyball coach position. As she was talking to all of the board members they asked her about what she looks for in a team. She said, “I want a team that gives 110% and I not only want them to succeed and win games, but I also want them to have fun, find love for the game, and be confident in what they can accomplish as a team.” This just shows that she is willing to try her hardest for her player and student to be successful in their future careers. So overall Sadler has an impact on the volleyball team and her students.  This is why she inspires me to be a better person and that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.
