Author of the Month : Stephen King

Carlee Moss

When the name Stephen King gets said people probably don’t think of a sweet man who has helped children and even young adults with pursuing writing. Well, you’d be wrong, according to Rolling Stones Stephen King helped pay for and publish the children’s writings. Stephen King is a very kind man and has a soft spot for children. King is not always about gore and horror.

King was born on September 21, 1947, in Portland, Maine. King is an American novelist and short story writer. King graduated from the University of Maine in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in English. While writing his short stories he worked as a janitor, teaching, and a few other jobs along the way. King’s first ever novel was Carrie (1974). By the early 1990s King’s books had sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. Stephen King has been a top favorite author of mine for a while now.

Stephen King has released If It Bleeds on April 20, 2020. I myself have this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. To briefly summarize If It Bleeds, Holly Gibney of the Finders Keepers detective sees footage of a horrific school bombing on TV. She suspects that there is something odd about the reporter Ondowsky who was first on the scene and that he may be a supernatural “outsider.” Holly makes contact with an elderly policeman who believes that the reporter feeds on the fear of traumatic emotions, and Holly realises that Ondowsky must be stopped. This book was an amazing read along with many of his other books.

Stephen King has released many books and movies; some of his new releases are Billy Summers (August 2021), Later (March 2021), If It Bleeds (August 2020), and one of his most well known It (September 1986).
