Dude Be Nice Week at PHS

Kaelynn Mosier and Mya Blair

The PHS Student Council has been prepping for weeks to give the student body a fun and relaxing week right before they leave for easter break. They scheduled the annual Dude Be Nice week to fall on the three days before they all leave, April 3-5. There will be goodies handed out in the morning, food trucks, afternoon outside, and they will be participating in spirit days.

The spirit days for the week starting on Monday will be, Soccer Mom vs. BBQ dad, Tuesday will be Biker vs. Surfer, and last Wednesday will be kindness shirts or Hat hair/Hat day. Mrs. Sitton the Student Council advisor will be selling heart glasses, leis, and beads to give students an opportunity to participate in these spirit days.

Goodies will be handed out on Monday and Tuesday morning at most of the student entrances, however it will be first come first serve. Harps and Caseys have been willing to donate doughnuts on Monday so Student Council can pass them out to the student body as they come in that morning. On Tuesday, Student Council has bought kindness stickers, to pass out as students enter the building as well. The goal with these stickers is to promote kindness and give students positive aspirations throughout the day.

Wednesday afternoon there will be an Easter break kickoff out on the football field. There will be local food trucks set up near the track. Pa’s Pork Rinds, Rowe Crop Farm Kettle Corn, Grandma’s Sugar Shack, and Old Village Mercantile Ice Cream truck have been willing to come to this celebration and sell their goodies. There will be games and face painting to keep the students entertained, such as cornhole, kickball, face paint, four and nine square, gaga ball, and the bleachers are open as well so the students can sit around and hangout.

Dude Be Nice week is a time that almost all of the students look forward to at PHS. It gives the students a slight break before heading into EOC testing after Easter break.
