On September 21, the Potosi volleyball team traveled to North County and came back with another win; their final score was 3-0. Their record for the season is 13-2-1.
Every player contributed to the wins from each set throughout the entire game and each lady fought for each point that was earned. To end the first set, freshman Eden Robart got the kill. At the end of the second set, junior Ava Robart got the kill. Junior Layla Juliette got the final kill to end the whole game.
Eden Robart said “It’s definitely nerve-racking playing varsity, especially because I don’t want to let the team down when I mess up, but it’s fun, especially getting to know the older girls. I love looking up to them.” She concluded that she hopes she can someday play like them.
Coach Ashley Matthews said, “Last night we played North County. I do not think Varsity played to their full potential. After the game, I asked them if they thought they played their best and they told me no. They know what they need to do to succeed, we just have to be ready to put everything together for all of our upcoming games.”
The varsity team has two freshmen pulled up to play with them full-time, those include Macyn McCarthy and Eden Robart. Freshman Adalynn Gibson has also been pulled up to play varsity as well as jv.

Coach Matthews said, “I think Varsity is prepared for districts, but this coming week will be a test to see if we are as prepared as I think. Monday we take on a solid Valle Catholic team. If Varsity plays like they did against Festus, we are prepared for anyone.”
