Twenty PHS choir students traveled to Hillsboro High School to audition for All-District Choir on Monday, Sept. 25.
Ten PHS students earned All-District Choir honors: seniors – Alexis Jarvis, Brody Jackson, Colin Williams, Kinley Gibson, Noelle Porter, and Odie Jackson. Juniors – Ean Eaton, Jaidlynn Gaines, and Samuel Rhodes, and sophomore – Macy Saunders. Seven of these students also qualified to audition for All-State Choir: Jarvis, Porter, Eaton, Jackson, Rhodes, Gibson, and Gaines.
Macy Saunders said, “I’m excited, it was my first time auditioning for something like this. I was definitely nervous, but excited to have made it with such a good group of fellow students and singers.”
Some advice from Kinley Gibson, for the students who qualified to audition for All-State Choir, “You can’t base your performance on how other people do, just base it on how much better you are than you were in the past.”
These students will be working an hour a week with Potosi High School choir teacher, Mrs. Lewis to prepare for All-District Choir and prepare to audition for All-State Choir.
