On Saturday, October 7, PHS Cross Country hosted the conference meet at Potosi City Park.
Varsity girls placed 2nd out of 10 schools with a score of 60 coming behind Farmington with a score of 33.
Potosi freshman, Peyton Heifner(21:35), finished 6th on the home turf to be the only Potosi girl named all-conference.
Heifner said, “I feel like coach Politte has encouraged me to push myself and make me do better.”
Varsity boys also placed 2nd in conference with a score of 49 also trailing behind Farmington with a score of 25. Varsity boys had three boys place as all conference.
Potosi senior, Ezekiel Sisk(17:07), placed 3rd, junior, Alex Smith(17:12), placed 4th and freshman, Kanaan Wilson(18:00), placed 7th and all three were named all-conference.
Wilson said, “My goal for this season was to earn all-conference and I was excited when I succeeded that goal.”
Potosi Cross Country team will be traveling to Farmington on Oct. 14 to start preparing for the district race.
On Sat., Oct. 28, Cape Notre Dame will be hosting districts.
