Future Teachers of America is holding a book drive from Oct. 30 to Nov. 9.
FTA is asking for donations of new or gently used children picture books, young adult literature, and hardcover books.
The purpose of the book drive is to collect new or gently used books to give to families without access to books or to give to organizations like “Better World Books” that reach families in need of books. Book drives can awareness for “Together, We Read. Together, We Read,” an online book club that helps kids read more books easily.
The purpose of FTA’s annual book drive is to collect as many books as possible to donate to the schools to give to younger children.
In the past, the FTA book drive has been a huge success. Last year they collected 217 total books, the largest collection for FTA’s annual book drive.
FTA sponsor Mr. Kester said, “I hope we can break 300 books. I want to collect as many as possible to donate.”
So far, Mr. Kester has received 21 since the start of the book drive. Mr. Kester is grateful for any book he receives for him to donate them.
