The Potosi Christmas parade will be held on December 7th at 6:30. The route will begin at Sonic, continue on High Street, and disband at the high school as usual.
The theme is “Christmas in Toyland.” It will feature the PHS Marching Band along with an abundance of Christmas-themed floats from different businesses and community and religious organizations, including, of course, the arrival of Santa Claus himself!
The parade is a much-loved tradition enjoyed by all ages. Between the flashing lights, cheery music, and kids running around collecting candy, it’s a time when Potosi is truly alive with Christmas spirit. Senior Landon Dickey is excited to watch the parade and said, “This year might be the best parade yet!”
The marching band is looking forward to performing in this special event. Senior band member Logan Compton said, “It’s my favorite parade to dress up for. It really gets the town in the festive spirit and gets everyone ready for Christmas.”
The band participated in the Twin Cities Christmas Parade on Monday, Nov. 27, and are pumped up to put on their Christmas attire and bring their musical talents back home for the Potosi parade. Be on the lookout for their festive Christmas headwear and light-wrapped instruments!
Participants in the parade will meet on E Casey St. by Dr. Terpstra’s office at 5:30. If you are viewing the parade, bring a bag and be ready to catch some candy! Also, be sure to arrive early and dress warmly to secure a comfortable viewing spot.
