On February Saturday 17, the PHS speech team went to Marquette High School to compete against 33 other schools.
The PHS Speech team signed up for this Speech competition to prepare for high-stakes District and State speech competitions.
PHS Speech team coach, Mr. Dement said, “This speech meet will humble you, and that is ok. No matter what you place or if we place 3rd in Sweeps I will consider that 1st place. A win is a win.”
The competition was tough, but the PHS Speech team managed to score 7th overall with only 10 entries.
Senior Andrea Stewart said, “The kids in extemp were super smart, and it was scary. I almost made it to finals in it somehow.”
