Our band and choir students have been working super hard these past few months with singing and performing music way above their suggested abilities. These students are showcasing their abilities and their group abilities to stay on beat, sing together, and stay in tune. Band and choir both will be performing on Saturday, March, 9, 2024 at Hillsboro High School.
Nolle Porter who is a part of a choir ensemble said, “I do solos and ensembles to grow as a musician and to push myself past the limits I have set for myself.”
Solos and ensembles are a big achievement to even want or try to be a part of. Students put themselves out there and making themselves noticed. Playing in a band or singing in a group, musicians most likely going to go unnoticed. But with solos and ensembles it’s you or you and a group there’s no hiding any mistakes and you have to step up and sing or play louder. It’s all about confidence and wanting to put yourself out there.
Myla Sezter who is a part of the band ensemble said, “Solos and ensembles really pushes me out of my comfort zone and makes me take big steps in my music career but sometimes I need a big push like this really hard ensemble piece to make me want to step out of my comfort zone.”
We wish our band and choir ensembles luck on Saturday March 9. Hopefully they get exemplary ratings and go to state for their solos and ensembles.
