Wednesday, March 20 the Potosi Trojan varsity track team traveled to North County High School to compete in their second track meet this season. Overall the boys ended up in 3rd place while the girls ended up in 6th.
On the trip there they all either listened to music, slept, talked to their friends, or prepared themselves for their meet and on the way back they did the same and the ride there and back was very quiet.
In girls varsity discus Baylee Valentine got 4th place and Dakota Sampson got 20th. Kaydence Allgier got 8th in girls varsity pole vaulting and Launa Cantrell got 7th and Kaitlyn Weiners got 21st place in the varsity girls 100 meter dash and 19th in the 200 meter dash. In the 400 meter dash Makya Knoll got 5th place. In the 1600 meter dash run finals Peyton Heifner got 5th, Allison Land got 7th, and Delaney Govero got 8th.
Sophomore Baylee Valentine said, “I think the team did very well at the meet and I think a lot of people also placed well and I love the trips there and back because they are mostly quiet and I can sleep.”
In boys varsity pole vault Brayden Smith got 9th place and Carter Pyatt got 12th. In boys Discus Micheal Chavosky got 5th place, William Chavosky in 8th, and Drew Parmley in 22nd. In the Boys varsity 110 meter hurdles Landon Sprous got 1st place and Amontae Hill got 11th place. In the 300 meter hurdles Landson Sprouse got 2nd Jarren Cross got 3rd and Carter Pyatt got 14th.
The Trojans next meet is on Thursday, April 4th at Sikeston.
