The Potosi High School Pep Band traveled to Mizzou on Friday, March 15 to perform at the MSHSAA Basketball State Championship.
The PHS Pep Band was among the hundreds of bands across the state who auditioned to perform at the MSHSAA Basketball State Championship. They auditioned via video at the beginning of the year and found out they would be performing in the weeks leading up to the Championship.
PHS Band Director, Mr. Simms, has been with Potosi for the past five years. In these years, the Pep Band has never played outside of the PHS Gymnasium.
The band also maintained their Trojan Pride all the way in Columbia, Missouri as they played the fight song several times throughout the day.
While I was at the games, I happened to run into some Potosi local referees. Paul Fitzwater and Kyle Marler were both very impressed with the PHS Pep Band during the day.
MSHSAA’s mascot, MO, also thoroughly enjoyed the band as he was seen dancing during each performance.
The Potosi Pep Band did fantastic and everyone loved them. It was also an unexpected delight to see some Potosi referees.
