The Potosi Trojans are preparing to start up the 2024 cross country season.
With incoming freshman Chole Lambing, Presley Smith, and Peyton Morrison, the girls team has high expectations for the up and coming season. Also, the two returning seniors Allison Land and Alex Smith are excited to see how the season will progress.
On Sept. 5, the Potosi cross country team will travel to Perryville for their first cross country meet to start off the season.
The cross country team has put in a great deal of effort this past off season. This includes early morning, evening, and holiday practices to prepare for the new season.
P. Smith said, “I’m really nervous but mostly excited about my first high school meet and I am excited to see what the season brings.”
Sophomore Makya Knoll said, “I am excited for the overnight Joplin trip because of all the memories that were made last year and I am also excited to see how the team will perform in districts to see if we will qualify for state.”
Head coach Amanda Politte said, “I am excited to start the season, I am excited to see the kids’ hard work pay off, and I am excited to see faster times than I have ever seen before.”
The cross country has high expectations for the 2024 season.
