This year’s football homecoming game will be played against the Fredericktown black cats on September 27, 2024!
Monday, September 23 will start the spirit week where students will be given a theme for each day and participate by dressing up. This year’s overall theme for football homecoming is “Destinations”.
I asked PHS student and student council member Emily Brewer how she felt about this year’s spirit days and she said “ I am excited because the theme and the spirit days the student council came up with this year seem fun and I am excited to participate in them and to see everyone else participate.”
The day of homecoming is a day full of fun. We first have the Homecoming assembly where they crown each grade’s maids as well as the king and queen. Then everyone goes to the football field to watch the powder puff game where girls who volunteered play flag football while the senior football boys cheer them on. It’s usually a half day so you spend the rest of the time at school working on your classes homecoming float, because it’s a competition between each grade for whos looks the best! After school they have the parade.
This year’s homecoming semi formal dance will take place on Saturday September 28, 2024. It will be from 7 pm to 9 pm in the PHS round gym. The entry fee will be $5 , you can pick up outside guest forms from the main office. If you want to bring a guest, they have to be under the age of 21. At the dance there will be Snacks, drinks, music, and a Backdrop for you to take pictures with.
I asked Student Amajalea Hill what her favorite part of the homecoming dance is and she said “My favorite part of the dance is getting to dress up and taking pictures with friends, and I LOVE seeing Macy Saunders out dance everyone!”
The semi-formal is Always a good time and is a great place to make so many lasting memories with your friends and peers.
