Potosi JV volleyball team has been working hard every week in the weight room and the gym since the beginning of June 2024 to prepare for their upcoming season.
Tryouts were held on August 12-14. During tryouts, JV coach Tiara McCarthy chose 13 players to play on the JV team.
The JV team consists of freshman Chloe Essmyer, Paige Robart, Brenley Thornton, Sabyn Brown, Lexi Smith, Cali Dunn and sophomores Sophie Essmyer, Adalynn Gibson, Makinnly Summers, Corinne Ainley, Mckenna Branham, Adalyn Kirby, and Hallie Payne.
Paige Robart said, “I think we are doing good. We have improved a lot and everyone bonds very well together. I think we are going to have a successful season, and I can’t wait to see the outcome of all of our hard work.”
Head varsity coach Ashley Matthews said, “JV has a successful season ahead of them. They hustle and work hard every single day and the freshmen are adjusting to high school volleyball very well. I definitely think that they are going to do great this season.”
Every day, PHS volleyball players practice and consistently work hard. JV’s first game is September 3 against West County JV. The girls are hoping for a great outcome for the 2024 volleyball season.
