FFA national convention, a four-day trip for members who put effort into attending banquets, dances, or meetings. In Indianapolis, from Oct. 22 through Oct. 25.
The national convention is a beneficial annual event that focuses on teaching members leadership development. It includes activities such as educational sessions, career fairs, competitions, and keynote speeches. Members can go to a huge expo shopping center, the world’s toughest rodeo, and popular country artist concerts. FFA members from all over the USA have attended the convention.
“I am super excited about my first year at the national convention. I get to experience the biggest youth convention in the USA with over 60,000 FFA members, and I also get to experience this time with my own FFA kids,” said Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor Mrs. Nickelson.
In the past, members have been able to experience the meeting of Dale Brisby, a champion bull rider. Along with meeting Brisby, the members got to see a simulation of a calf being born.
“I went to a national convention my sophomore year and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Walking into the convention center was like a sea of blue FFA jackets. People from all around have different stories and fun experiences with their chapters. We also had the opportunity to visit the catacombs, an escape room, Conor’s prairie, and the catacombs underground. I made many new friends and it was a trip that I wouldn’t trade for the world!” said senior Stella Bourbon.
All 47 members have been competing to sell the most mums to be able to pay for their trip to the national convention. Out of the 47 members-only, 28 will have a spot on the bus to attend the national convention.
