On Monday, September 30, the Potosi Trojans volleyball team traveled to Valle Catholic to play the Warriors. The Trojans defeated the Warriors in 4 sets.
The Trojans were able to win the first two sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-19. The Trojans fell short of the win in the third set with a score of 27-25. However, they brought home the win in the fourth and final set with a score of 25-21. The Trojans are now ranked first in their district after beating the Warriors, the previous first-ranked team.
The Trojans ended the Warriors’ 13-game home winning streak, with help from sophomore Eden Robart who won player of the game. E. Robart finished the game with a total of 18 kills, 2 aces, and 5 digs.
Robart stated, “I felt very accomplished because I have been working very hard to achieve getting player of the game, and when Matthews told me I got it I was very happy and excited.”
Senior Ava Robart finished the game with a kill in the fourth set to bring home the victory for the Trojans, along with 28 other kills throughout the game.
Robart said, “ It felt really amazing because this is a team we’ve worked day and night preparing for since before the season even started. It felt really accomplishing being able to work as a team and apply everything we’ve been doing in practice to be able to get that big win.”
The Trojans play again at Farmington against the Knights on Thursday, October 3.
