Adalynn Gibson is a sophomore here at PHS. Adalynn has been playing JV and Varsity volleyball for 2 years. During these 2 years, she has worked hard to be a great leader. Not only does she hustle to make sure the hitters are getting good sets, she also encourages her teammates to have positive attitudes during tough games.
Adalynn said, “I don’t just work for myself, I work for my team and the outcome of our games. I enjoy playing this sport and having my friends as my teammates really helps bring the team together. We all get along well and that is one of the main reasons we have a record of 7-1.”
Head varsity coach Ashley Matthews said, “Adalynn is the “quarterback” of the JV team. She knows the rotations and where everyone is supposed to be at all times. She is a playmaker and drives the team with her energy. I cannot wait to see what she accomplishes in the upcoming seasons.”
Adalynn is very dedicated to her sport. She takes pride in winning and making sure all of her teammates are giving 100% of their effort at all times. Not only does she carry this pride on JV, but also on varsity. Her and freshman Brenley Thornton are always cheering and uplifting their teammates on varsity.
Adalynn has been consistent with her love for volleyball for going on 8 years. Since 3rd grade, she has found enjoyment in playing volleyball with her close friends. She plans to play volleyball all throughout her high school career.
