Chloe Rowe is a freshman this year at PHS. This is Rowe’s first year playing tennis. She had started from scratch this summer. Being athletic, Rowe picked up on tennis quickly. A freshman on varsity shows Rowe’s determination in tennis.
Rowe said, “My goals in tennis are to be able to be in the top six by the end of freshman year. In the following years, I want to be in the top three and make it to state for at least one year. To accomplish these goals I will work on my form and get every technique to hit the best I can.” Chloe had already reached one of her goals of being in the top six by the end of her freshman year.
Rowe is a multiple sport athlete she is playing on the basketball team and has yet to decide on her spring sport. Her current record is 19-10 with wins against North County, Affton, Fredericktown, Poplar Bluff, Mehlville, Bayless, Saxony Lutheran, Festus, St.Charles West, St.Pius, and Arcadia Valley. Then she had three doubles wins against Windsor, Saxony Lutheran, and Festus with her two doubles partners Lani Elder and Shannon Riddle. As well as a third-place finish in her flight at the Farmington Invitational.
Tennis head coach Danny Mueller said, “In tennis, your spot in the lineup is ultimately determined by how you do against your own teammates. Her quick rise to being in the varsity lineup is a testament to that. Chloe has shot up the rankings which is impressive to see.”
Rowe plans on playing basketball in the winter but has yet to decide on her spring sport. She enjoys spending time with her friends and attending the First Baptist Church of Potosi.
