Teacher and coach Amanda Politte has been coaching for 10 years and teaching for 15 years. 10 of these years have been here at PHS. Politte has made positive impacts on her athletes and students. She emphasizes her athlete’s passion for track and cross country. She is someone that people look up to through her love for teaching and being a part of this school. She is a great inspiration for what the love of purple live gold means at Potosi High School.
One of Politte’s cross country runners, Sophomore Delaney Govro said, “ Coach Politte has made an impact on me by encouraging me to always do my best. She always has a positive attitude and brings good energy in stressful situations.”
Sophomore Makinnly Summers said, “As my math teacher, freshman year she has made a great impact on me. She always made sure I understood everything when we were learning and made sure that I was always caught up on my work. Mrs. Politte never felt like just a teacher but a friend as well.”
Coach Politte believes being a Trojan means teamwork, friendship, dedication, and most important family. Politte is such an inspiration at PHS, always having a positive attitude, and uplifting and encouraging staff, students, and her athletes.
Politte said, “Running has always been a big part of my life so I knew it would be a part of what I decided to do and math just happened to be available to me. Working here has taught me what being a Trojan truly means and I love being a part of the Trojan family.”
Politte is currently coaching cross country and will be continuing the coaching track this upcoming season for her 10th year of coaching. The cross country team has had a very successful season so far as they have had 4 meets.
Mr.Boyd, one of Politte’s colleagues at PHS said, “Coach Politte is the biggest supporter of her colleagues and assistant coaches. I have the privilege of coaching track with her, and teaching math with her. She supports the decisions we make, and she will help us any time we need it. This is the greatest attribution to how she has impacted both my coaching and teaching careers. Support goes a long way.”
Mrs. Pollite has impacted so many students and teachers’ lives at Potosi High School. She has recently won the purple belt motivation at the monthly assembly. She is truly the definition of what it means to be a Trojan here at PHS.
