The Potosi band students got the opportunity to go to the Festus High School to audition for the all-district honors band Abbi Bowen made 7th chair flute, Jordan Snider made 12 chair flute, Payton Coleman made 4th chair clarinet, Shelby Arnold made 20th chair clarinet, Elizabeth Pratt make 24th chair clarinet, Cassidy Price making 11th chair trumpet, Courtney wade made 7th chair trombone, and Kayden Kamper making 2nd chair percussion.
Mr Odell Jackson had this to say about All-districts,” The Potosi band had one of the highest numbers selected. They represented our band well. The students did a fantastic job and put on an excellent concert.” school wasn’t held on the day of auditions due to weather conditions so several students could not make it to auditions held at Festus high school but 14 out of the 28 that were supposed to make it were able to audition and we had 8 make it.
After making the band the students were expected to attend a concert held in Rickman Auditorium at Fox High School they had 4 pieces of music which included Reverberations, Grace Before Sleep, Choose Joy, and Black Water.
The band is incredibly lucky to have this opportunity for those who choose. The band will start pep band on December 10th and their concert season at the beginning of January.
