The PHS Wrestling team has two new coaches including 22 boys and 12 girls. They have been practicing every day for several hours. With a long season ahead of them they have been pushing hard to plan for a long season of wins. It’s a hard season to pass up compared to last year’s losing some of the best seniors in a long time with 4 girls going to state and 5 boys.
Junior Alexis Missey said “ I love wrestling. It teaches you so many lessons that no other sport can teach you. It takes a lot to do this sport because it is so mentally and physically demanding but it is the most rewarding thing you can do. Getting your hand raised after a tough match is one of the best feelings in the world and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. I think this year is going to be great. We have grown so much. We have about 30 wrestlers and I cannot wait to see what they accomplish this year. I’m also so excited to have new coaches and learn new things and new ways to do moves.”
This team has been practicing very hard. The next time you can watch them is December 3 at Windsor. The team would love to see you there.
