The Lady Trojans’ Varsity basketball team traveled to Desoto High School on Monday, December 2, and took another victory over the Jefferson Blue Jays.
The Lady Trojans played the Blue Jays the previous Monday, and both JV and varsity took the win. The Trojans kept up the hard work to defeat the Blue Jays again with a score of 62-38. The Trojans will move on to the second round of the Desoto Tournament following their victory.
Freshman Chole Rowe said, “I thought we played a lot better as a team than we did the first time we played them. We held them to 38 points with good defense, which is hard to do. They are a very physical and talkative team, but we stayed calm, controlled ourselves, and played our game.”
The Trojans had a strong game in all aspects, with senior Aubree Wilson and sophomore Sabra Brown taking two offensive charges. Senior Annie Mapes led defensively with 4 steals and 8 deflections. Eden Robart also put up a successful game under the basket with 5 offensive and defensive rebounds.
The Trojans will play again on Friday, December 6 at Desoto High School against the Festus Tigers.
