The Unified Basketball program will have their first basketball game on Tuesday, December 10. The contest will be held at Potosi High School in between the girls Junior Varsity and Varsity games in the gymnasium.
The players learn communication skills that apply on and off the court, leadership by playing the game and being able to help out their team, and teamwork by playing with their teammates during the practices and games.
Sophomore Carter Pyatt said, “ I think the Unified basketball program is a great thing Potosi offers. It’s a good learning experience that involves using teamwork and communication that will not only be used in the game but also in the real world.”
On the court you will find PHS players; Julie Bailey, Elijah Purcell, Kassandra McConell, Andrew Ross, and Hunter Higgins. You can also find JEMS players; William Peters, David Boyet, and Kaylee Roberts.
Sophomore player, Hunter Higgins said, “I am really excited to play basketball this year.”
The players are excited to see how the game will go and how they will be able to progress throughout their time here at PHS.
