The PHS band had their winter concert on December 9th. They played pieces titled The Nutcracker Suit, O’come O’come Emanuel, Slay Ride, and Holiday cheer.
The band worked very hard for three weeks and faced challenges such as preparing for the Christmas parade and pep band ( where they perform for the local basketball games). They put in hard work in and out of school. They had five days off of school for Thanksgiving break, meaning they had to put in work at home to perform to the best of their ability.
Mr. Jordan Simms had this to say about the concert, “ The HS band sounded Fantastic at the Winter Concert, they played some very challenging music and did extremely well. They even made Sleigh Ride sound dangerous…”
The Potosi band will divide into symphonic and concert bands starting at the beginning of the new semester (after Christmas break). They will have many concert performances and can perform solo and ensemble at Hillsboro High School.
