Starting this year the Golden spirit pommies will be competing in dance competitions. They all must try out together as a team and the girls who make it past tryouts will actually compete in small groups, there is also a chance some will get to perform solos or duos. The first competition will be held at Seckman dance regionals competition on January 17th and 18th.
Junior pommies Co-captain, Kallee Logsden, said, “ This year we only had three returners so it was very different from last year, but we’re going to be going to competitions this year so that’s exciting since we’ve never done that before. I think it’s going to be a good year for our team and I think we have made a lot of improvement from last year” We know the dancers have seen improvement in their selves but even their coach has seen improvement in them.
Pommies coach, Bailey Vance, said “ This year’s team has a clear view of what they want to accomplish and are working hard already to achieve it. I have seen huge improvements already this year I cannot wait to watch this team thrive as the season moves forward.”
This team has been working extra hard since most of the girls are new and have never been on pommies before, but you would never be able to tell most of them are new with how amazing they are from the work they have been putting in so far this season.
Their next performance will be Friday, Dec. 13, at the boys home basketball game against St. Clair.
