On Friday, Jan 24, 2025, the annual basketball homecoming hallway competition winners were announced.
All week the students and their class sponsor worked hard on planning and decorating for their hallways.
Senior Sponsor Mr. Kester said,” I feel it went really well. There was lots of student involvement, which always makes it better, and it looked amazing! Obviously, We won! But the reason we won is because the seniors wanted to represent the best and most creative side of themselves, which they undoubtedly did. I hope the community enjoyed it. I know that the senior hall is the gateway for the community to see what is going on at PHS during homecoming week. I hope the community continues to support the Potosi R3 school district.”
The PHS Student Council members chose the hallway themes for their grades. The senior student council members got the first pick, and the order of picking went down by grade level.
The hallway themes included:
Freshmen- Purple and Gold
Sophomores- White Christmas
Juniors- Party in the USA
Seniors- Welcome to the Jungle
PHS Freshman Chloe Rowe said, “ I think our hallway was a 10 out of 10 because we had our old school jerseys from basketball, cheerleading, and pommies. The jerseys really helped our theme which was purple and gold. Overall I think our hallway was really good, especially for our first basketball homecoming.”
The students and sponsors worked most of Friday completing their hallways.
The winners were: The seniors won first place, the freshmen took second place, the juniors took third place, and the sophomores took last place.
PHS Senior Allison Land said, “ I feel pretty excited about our hallway. It’s the third year in a row our class has won the competition so it makes me very proud of how our group just comes together so well to get stuff done.”
