The Potosi High School Girls Basketball team played the Central Rebels on Thursday, January 30th. The game was a constant battle for the Trojans. The starters for the game were Eden Robart, Aniston Mapes, Aubree Wilson, Chloe Rowe, and Presley Smith. The girls came out with good attitudes and were ready to work hard.
In the first quarter, the Central Rebels scored 16 points, while the Trojans scored only 10. With 25 seconds left in the first quarter, Aniston Mapes (25) broke the press, passing a field goal to Eden Robart (23), which was executed, decreasing the Rebels’ lead by 2.
As the second quarter started Chloe Rowe intercepted a pass and went in for a layup. As the second quarter ended the Rebels scored 27 and Potosi with 19.
After the third quarter, the Trojans weakened the Rebels’ lead and propelled them to only a 6-point difference in the game.
The game ended in a tough loss for the Lady Trojans with an ending score of (46) lady trojans and (56) Rebels but hoped to face the Central Rebels again in the conference tournament and come out with a win.
