The Potosi R-3 School District is very happy to announce that Mark Casey is now the new Head Coach for Potosi High School’s Varsity Football team. Coach Casey is a 1991 graduate of Potosi High and has over 21 years of experience in education under his belt along with 24 years of coaching. His connection to the community, having played football for Potosi High, make this role very meaningful for him.
Prior to taking his coach position at Potosi, Coach Casey was an assistant coach for the State Champion Central Rebels, where he helped take their team to victory. With his experience in high level programs and his passion for football, there is no doubt that he will thrive and better the football program in this position.
Superintendent Alex McCaul has showed excitement about Coach Casey’s return, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome back one of our own to lead the Potosi High School football program. His wealth of coaching experience, his history with the school, and his commitment to the growth and development of our student-athletes make him the perfect fit for this important role. We look forward to the exciting future he will build for our football team.”
Coach Casey is ready to make his return back to his home school and work with the students, staff, and community to build a strong football program. “I am extremely excited to return to my alma mater and take on the responsibility of leading the Potosi High School football program,” said Coach Casey. “This community and this school mean so much to me, and I look forward to working with the student-athletes, staff, and the entire Potosi community to build something special.” His arrival marks a new era for our football team the district is excited to welcome him to the team, and see the marks he makes on the field and in the community
