The Potosi Trojans finish 4th in the State Show Me Showdown at Mizzou basketball arena
The Potosi Trojans placed 4th in class 4. The basketball team traveled to Mizzou arena after beating the Ste. Genevieve Dragons to win the district title the score was 58-50. Then next round they traveled to Dexter for the sectional game and they won 49-45. Then got to play home against Clayton in the quarterfinal game and won 78-63 to sent them for the first time ever to Colombia to compete for the class 4 state championship.
Coach Conaway said, “I think we had an excellent year. Making history and being able to compete in the Final Four for the first time in school history was an incredible experience and something myself and the team will never forget. I am happy the Seniors got to end their high school career at the State tournament. We will miss the Seniors greatly.”
The Trojans played Vashon first. Carter Whitley finished with 15 points and was the lead scorer. The Trojans fell short to Vashon 90-30 but the team and the fans never lost their Trojan pride. They fought all the way until the end of the game.
The Trojans played in the 3rd and 4th place game against Logan-Rogersville. They started off slow and picked it up but it was too late the Trojans fell short 36-54 and they took 4th place in class 3. The Trojans finished with an incredible season finishing 24-6.
Kannan Wilson was given All-Conference and All-District.
Carter Whitley was given All-Conference and All-District and District Player Of The Year.
Coach Conaway was given District Coach Of The Year.
