PHS has performed many Musicals and Plays, including Elf, Annie, Peter and the StarCatcher, The World According to Snoopy, and many more. The audience always sees the amazing talent from students on the stage, but do we ever think about the work the students do behind the scenes? What really goes on?
The stage crew is one of the most important groups when it comes to putting on a High School play or musical. They’re a group of members who work together in helping put on the show from the very beginning to the end. They are there when students audition for their roles, to when they take their bow. Junior Jesse Steele says that her favorite part is seeing it all come together from start to finish and enjoys seeing the growth that everyone accomplishes in something they all love.
Our stage crew does so much when it comes to putting the shows together. Whether it be working with the technology to make sure the sound is to a T or that the lighting is perfect, grabbing and placing props when needed, and helping get the performers’ costumes and wardrobes ready and all glamoured up for them. These individuals are a vital part of performances, and PHS couldn’t be more grateful.
