Over the summer in July, ATG removed the old football field behind JEMS Middle School and installed a brand new turf for the Potosi Trojans football team and marching band. The old field had become tough to walk on, making practices and games more challenging for the athletes and band members. The upgrade was much needed to provide a safer and more comfortable surface.
One player, Noah Walton, shared his opinion on the new field, saying, “The new turf is really soft and it is a complete upgrade compared to the last field, its a lot easier to run and cut on.” this shows how much the players appreciate the improvements, as the softer turf helps reduce injuries and improves their performance during games.
Football coach, Coach Leeds, says that, “the turf is softer, therefore my back doesn’t hurt as badly during practice and the colors visually pop more than they did with the old field.”
The new field is not only beneficial for the football team but also provides a better experience for the marching band during their routines. With this upgrade, Potosi Trojans can look forward to a season on a much better playing field.
