As the 2025-2026 school year here at PHS starts up, the Student Ambassadors start their recycling program back up. The recycling program consists of our ambassadors here at PHS going to Mrs. Bernhardt and signing themselves up on a google doc for days throughout the school year to stay after school and collect the trash from the teachers trash bins that we handed out at the beginning of the year.
After that is all done, Mrs. Bernhardt and the ambassadors load it into her truck and Mrs. Bernhardt will take it to be recycled.
Makya Knoll, a student ambassador here at PHS said, “I have been a student ambassador since my Sophomore year and I love being involved in the ambassadors.”I definitely recommend getting into student ambassadors if you want to be involved, and I enjoy doing recycling.”
Student ambassador representative Mrs. Bernhardt said, “Recycling is cool”.
As a student ambassador myself I strongly encourage any student at PHS to get involved with student ambassadors because we are a part of lots of fun events and the recycling program is fun to be a part of.
One reason that PHS’s recycling program is so important is because it saves our school’s money on disposal costs, it provides a hands-on educational experience for the ambassadors, and by involving PHS ambassadors in the recycling program it creates a positive environmental impact here at PHS.
