Potosi marching band has their first competition at Murphysboro on Sat. Sept. 13.
This year’s show is called Escaping Alcatraz and the song they are performing is the first and second movement the first movement is called “Riot” and the second movement is called “Solitary.”
The color guard this year is going as prisons that are making a riot and is directed by Emily Lewis.
The marching band does the competition in preparation of the marching band session, Head band director Jordan Simms said, “I am pretty excited about it I think we have a good chance to do really good in our class.”
Junior Avery Cain said, “I’m always excited about Murphysboro. It’s a pretty long competition it’s just a good little parade.”
The entry fee for spectators at is $10 for Adults and $5 for students and children under five are free so come out and support the band.
