The Potosi Trojans Take on Ste. Genevieve on The New Home Field
The Potosi Trojan football team played Ste. Genevieve on Sept.19. The Trojans and the Dragons fought hard but Potosi came up short, losing 25-24.
For the Trojans, Noah Walton had a total of 18 carries for 135 yards. David Miller, a sophomore Quarterback had 60 passing yards for the Trojans.
Aaron Urich the defense and lineman coach stated,” Little things add up to be big wins. If we want to win, we have to fix our little mistakes.”
Sophomore Elliot Akers stated that in order to win our linemen need to work together and communicate up front.
In the first quarter, the Trojans drove down the field to score with Noah Walton. The Trojans defense was able to control the Dragons until the second half with the halftime score being 12-0.
In the third quarter, Jude Litton had a passing touchdown from David Miller for 32 yards. By the end of the third quarter the score was 18-7.
The game ended with a comeback from Ste. Genevieve late in the fourth quarter. The Dragons took the lead from a touchdown from Luke Ferranto to make the score 18-19. Then Noah Walton had a go ahead 63 yard touchdown to retake the lead from Ste. Gen. Unfortunately, for the Trojans, Ste. Gen connected with Ethan Ottens for a 58 yard touchdown to put the Ste. Gen Dragons up for good. The Trojans had one more shot to score but they fell short and the Dragons took a kneel and concluded the game winning 25-24.
The Trojans will be back on the field on Fri., September 26 at Fredericktown at 7 p.m.
