On Sep. 20, 2025, the Potosi Trojan cross country team traveled to Mineral Area College to compete in the Bismarck Indian Invitational 5k cross country meet. The Potosi Lady Trojans secured a victory, while the Varsity boys earned two medals. Additionally, the JV boys obtained two more medals.
For the girls’ Varsity team, Peyton Heifner came in first with a time of 20:59, Presley Smith placed fourth with a time of 22:46, Carley Coleman finished eleventh with a time of 24:18, Ava Govro placed nineteenth with a time of 25:56, Makya Knoll took twentieth place with a time of 26:13, and Chloe Lambing came in twenty-third with a time of 26:32. The girls’ Varsity team ultimately secured first place overall.
“I am proud of the girls team, I feel like they packed up really well like they were supposed to, and they ended up doing great.” said Mrs. Politte, the PHS cross country coach.
Although the boys did not have enough runners to place as a team, here’s how they performed individually. Brayden Smith placed seventh with a time of 18:32, Zachary Johnson placed twentieth with a time of 19:36, Amontae Hill came in forty-ninth with a time of 22:18. The boys’ JV team did well, with Davin Buhler finishing seventeenth with a time of 21:42, Austin Rayl taking eighteenth place with a time of 21:53, and Kamryn Declue finishing forty-second with a time of 25:44.
