In the 2025/2026 school year, the Art Club at Potosi High School received the first “The future Artist” grant for murals from the Mineral Area Council on the Arts.
Local teachers got the opportunity to apply for an 500$ art grant for a specific project that would help the district/ school grow future artists, but there isn’t enough funding. PHS applied for the grant with the idea of making murals.
Because they couldn’t decide between the idea of PHS and the idea of Bismarck the money got split. 300$ for PHS and 200$ for Bismarck.
All the funding has to be used for the murals. The members of the art club get to help decide the mural and where it will be painted. Everyone from the Art Club can submit a design if they want to.
Angelia Stewart, senior interested in Art Club, would like to paint a mural that inspires people with a pop of color.
Mrs. Brannam said that she will accept designs from the members of the art club until the end of October.
