On Thursday, October 16 the Potosi Lady Trojans got another victory, during the conference tournament.
The first game was at 4:00pm and it was the Potosi Trojans vs. the Bismarck Indians, with Potosi gaining the win 2-0. The scores of the sets were 25-23 and 25-19.
During this game many players had some great achievements including sophomore Presley Smith with 3 kills, Junior Adalynn Gibson with 21 assists, freshman Kadence Eden with 4 digs, and Junior Eden Robart with 10 kills.
A’majalea Hill said, “I feel as if the team executed everything we had been practicing well. These girls inspire me everyday to keep going because as long as you want it, you will get it.”
Two games were played before the Potosi Trojans next game. The second game played was Valle Catholic vs. St.Gen with Valle Catholic coming out on top 2-1.
The third game was Bismarck vs. Ste. Gen, with Bismarck winning 2-0.
The very last game of the night was the championship game. It was the Potosi Trojans vs. Valle Catholic. The Trojans fought hard and ended up coming out with a 2-0 win.
During this outstanding achievement a few players had some great accomplishments including junior Macyn McCarthy with 30 digs, sophomore Eve Litton with 10 kills, and junior Eden Robart with 15 kills.
Coach Matthews said, “The girls did a fantastic job during the Conference Tournament Championship. They played their hearts out and left it all on the court. I believe this win has given them momentum and confidence moving into the District Tournament.”
Thursday, October 23, the Trojans have their first round of districts at Ste. Gen. Their game will be against Central at 5pm.
