Junior Adalynn Gibson reached 1,000 assists on the night of Oct. 16 in the last game of their conference tournament against Valley Catholic.
Adalynn has been a part of Potosi High School’s volleyball team throughout all three years of her high school career.
Early into the second set at 8-9, Adalynn took the set that would change her career. She set up hitter Eden Robart for a kill against Valley Catholic, and Potosi took the win for their conference for the first time since 1993.
Adalynn said, “I feel very accomplished and excited about reaching my 1,000 assist! I didn’t feel that I would reach it this year but I’m so proud and I couldn’t have done it without my team!“
The Lady Trojans are all very proud of Adalynn for her accomplishment and hard work on the team. Adalynn has put lots of effort into her volleyball career seeking to excel in the best ways possible.
Coach Matthews said, “This is an incredible milestone to meet as a junior only setting full time for one season! I am so proud of her for hard work and resilience as she has worked through injury this season.“
Adalynn had an injury earlier this year and still persevered and reached this great milestone. All who know her are proud of what she has accomplished and overcoming her injury.
Adalynn has great things ahead of her. Hitting 1,000 assists isn’t just a milestone, it’s a reminder of how hard work, teamwork, and passion can turn dreams into reality.
