The number one seed in Class 2 District 3 has made their way to the championship after a 3-0 win against the 5th seed Lady Rebels. The score of the game was 28-26, 25-13, 25-17. The girls battled back in the first set with the score being 24-19 before the Lady Trojans went of a 5-0 run to tie the game.
Coach Matthews said, “ I am extremely proud of these girls and the hard work they put into last nights game, after the first set I told them they needed to settle down and just play volleyball, and get the job done. That is exactly what they did.”
As of right now, this young team is ranked fourth in the Class 3 Missouri rankings.
Eden Robart said, “ I feel like I struggled a little bit with my serve receive last night, but I went into the game nervous. My goal for the next Tuesday is to just play and hopefully keep going.”
Macyn McCarthy said, “I was for sure nervous and let my nerves get the best of me at times, but at the end, we as a team pulled through and knew what we needed to do. We are ready for next week and we are trying to take it slow and go game by game.”
The Lady Trojans will be back in action on Tue., Oct. 28, against Ste. Genevieve at 6pm in Ste. Genevieve.
