Every year there is a cross country race held for Potosi Intermediate and Elementary students who would like to participate. This race is an fun opportunity for student to learn competitiveness and have fun with their friends. Mrs. Politte, the cross country team, and other volunteer staff manage and organize00 the races and make sure they run smoothly.
“I have helped out with the races since my freshman year and still my favorite part about helping is the look on the kids’ faces when we hand them their medals. Getting to see all of the hard work that goes into the races, and the dedication with having to set up, and record times from Mrs. Politte is really inspiring,” said Makya Knoll junior cross country runner.
“A word of advice I would give to any kid who is in intermediate school and who is entering middle school and would like to give cross country a try would be to be grateful for the opportunity to compete and to have fun because you wouldn’t want to do something you don’t enjoy. Running is a gift and being able to spread the opportunity of it is a blessing,” said sophomore cross country runner Chloe Lambing.
