The Potosi Trojans Volleyball team faced Ste. Genevieve on the night of Oct. 28 at Ste. Genevieve where they played three sets going 3-0.
Potosi fought hard for the win using hustle and determination to gain another victory. In the three sets they went 25-21, 25-20, and 25-22. This win resulted in the Trojans being back to back district champions.
Some star players from the Trojans were Junior Eden Robart with 23 kills, Junior Adalynn Gibson with 27 assists, Junior Macyn McCarthy with 23 digs, and Junior Corinne Ainley with 6 blocks and 5 kills.
The trojans used their heart and perseverance to carry through districts. The Trojans managed to keep their heads up during the game even when the odds seemed against them they still persevered with the win.
Junior Adalynn Gibson said, “Winning districts this year was so memorable! I was so proud of all of the girls who have become my sisters over the season! In the moment for the district title it was game point and I was like wait we are really about to do this! It was just really exciting and something that no one can take from us!”
The Trojans next game was at Saxony Lutheran on Oct. 30 where they unfortunately lost and ended their season for the 25-26 volleyball season.
The Trojans had an astonishing season this year with a final record of 28-5-2. The girls ended their season being 4th in class 3. Though it wasn’t first like they had hoped the girls still reached an astonishing season.
