Coleman to Kansas City

Former Potosi High School student athlete Dylan Coleman was traded to the Kansas City Royals organization. The deal between the Royals and the padres was finalized November 5th. 

 

Potosi native graduated in 2015 and received a scholarship from Missouri State University. Colemans first year with the Bears he went 6-4 with 4.98 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 72.1 innings earning him the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American recognition from Collegiate Baseball. Coleman followed up his freshman season with a breakout sophomore season. He shared the teams lead with eight mound victories and a Missouri Valley Conference-Best 106 strikeouts. 

 

Coleman was drafted by the San Diego Padres Organization in the 4th round of the 2018 June Amateur. Playing in the Padres Single A, Dylan held a 2.37 ERA through 16 games. 

 

Dylan received the news about him being traded to the Royals and he had to say this. 

 

“The trade November 5th, it brings me to the Royals, it feels good to be closer to my hometown, and I am excited about what the future holds for me. I will keep working hard and the outcome should be positive.”
