Going into the tournament senior Levi Courtney knew that he was going to break the PHS all-time pin record for most pins in a career. With 71 pins in his career, he made PHS history, beating the previous record of 70 pins held by Ben Turnbough.

Levi has had a very strong season with a current record of 30-6. At the Central Invitational, Courtney had 3 pins and 2 decisions, he finished 5-0 at the tournament beating Jacob Wilcox from New Madrid, winning the championship match 10/4 securing him 1st place.

In the 170 weight class, he has worked hard to maintain. He also placed 3rd at the Cape Invitational. All of this hard work gave him the title from the Daily Journal “Athlete of the Week.”

Courtney said, “Overall the season has gone better than I initially thought, which has made me realize hard work really does pay off. I am very thankful for my coaches pushing me as much as they have and knowing what I am capable of.” Courtney believes he is going to finish the season strong and is looking forward to championships play and hopefully place at State.
