On Tuesday, January 26, the PHS boys varsity basketball defeated Kingston High School with a final score of 62-61. With 4.7 seconds left in the game Sophomore Luke Brabham sunk two free throws to clinch the victory for the Trojans.

The Trojans (9-8) and the Cougars (14-3) battled for much of the game, keeping the score tied or within one point for nearly its entirety.

The Trojans began the game strong on offense and defense. The first quarter ended with Potosi by 10 points. As the game went on Kingston started to come back. By half time the score was 36-34. The game went back and forth with points the whole time. Both teams were playing so well it could have been anyone’s game. The end of the third quarter was tied with a score of 51-51. The crowd was pumped and nervously waiting to see who was going to win. Both students’ sections were up and loud.

The Trojans will play again Friday, January 20 at home in their homecoming game. They will be playing Fredericktown Black Cats. JV tips at 6, followed by the coordination and then the varsity game.
