On Tuesday, February 15 the PHS varsity Basketball Team defeated St.Pius High School with a final score of 59-25.
The Lady Trojans came out strong playing against St.Pius. Senior guard Kiersten Blair had 15 points and nine rebounds. The second highest scorer was Senior Calrey Hampton who had 14 points with 4 assists and three steals. PHS girls made 15 of 19 free throws.
The Lady Trojans came out with a 23-0 scoring lead that lasted 5 ½ minutes. Hampton was 6 for 6 from the line during the first quarter.
The second quarter was a different story though. None of PHS’s shots were going in.Once the girls got done with their talk in the locker room they came out in the third quarter and played the game they knew how to play. Last night the PHS girls played as a team and it paid off for them.
The Trojans will play again Friday,February 23 at Pacific High School.
