The Potosi High School Speech and Debate finalists for state, Junior Isabella DiFiori and Senior Emma Simmons, competed at Missouri State University for the state tournament on Friday, April 22.

Isabella DiFiori performed two rounds in the tournament. She was extremely excited but nervous to be able to go to state and experience this. 

Emma Simmons also performed two rounds in the tournament. Emma was very excited to go to state. 

To be top eight in the state and make it to the finals, their scores are used. Unfortunately, Isabella and Emma were only a couple of points from this.

Mrs. Papin, the speech and debate coach, is very proud of Isabella and Emma. She said, “It is an incredibly high honor to make it to state and very difficult to make it to finals and be the top 8th in the state. Both Bella and Emma did amazing though and represented our school well!”
