PHS+Boys+and+Girls+Cross+Country+headed+to+State

On Saturday, October 23 both the girls and boys PHS Cross Country teams participated in the Class 3 District 1 tournament.  The boys placed third and the girls placed fourth qualifying them for the State tournament that will take place on Saturday, November at Gans Creek. See this link for Saturday’s schedule.

Seven PHS athletes earned all-district honors:

Zeke Sisk-3rd place
Alex Smith-5th place
Kanaan Wilson-20th place
Peyton Heifner-12th place
Alyson Skiles-17th place
Allison Land-20th place
Carlee Moss-24th place
Senior Alyson Skiles said once she realized this was her last district race she suddenly felt emotional. She said, “I love my team this year, and it’s just surreal knowing I won’t be running with Potosi Cross Country after this year.”
Senior Zeke Sisk said he didn’t feel much during the race because of the freezing cold. However, once he had time to warm up he said, “I felt a lot of accomplishment knowing I’m going to State.”
Tickets for Saturday’s State race must be purchased online using this link. Users should click “cross country” and then “get tickets.”
The cross country team will walk the halls of PHS at 10:40 on Friday morning for a student body sendoff, and then the team will have a police escort from the Washington County Library out Highway 8 West at 11:15.
