Career Mountain will take place On October 17, 2024, in the PHS gymnasium. This year, in addition to the college and career fair that goes on in the gym, there will also be breakout sessions for each grade level. Seniors and juniors will be participating in a Scholarship and Employability panel where some local outside guests will be coming in to give advice, and tips, and answer questions along with attending a, “How to Adult” class with guest speaker Jaclyn Rowe.
Sophomores and freshmen were allowed to choose two breakout sessions to attend. Some examples of the breakouts that are being offered include “How to Change a Tire,” “Basic Car Maintenance,” “How to Open A Checking Account,” “How to Start a Small Business,” and more. There will be over a dozen colleges and university representatives to visit along with trade schools and cosmetology schools, different branches of the military, realtors, unions, banks, hospitals, and so many more local businesses represented to showcase all of the different career paths that are available for students.
Career Mountain is a great day to learn about what is next for you after high school, and what your interests are. There will even be prizes and incentives for students who participate and fill out the Career Mountain Day papers. Make sure you are here this Thursday because you do not want to miss it!
